I was admitted for an operation and during the operation my heart rate suddenly increased to above the normal range (called Tachycardia) upon which the anaesthetists had to administer Esmolol - a drug with rapid onset to reduce the increased heart rate and bring it back to within the normal range
Discovery Health refuses to pay the cost of this drug.
So I conclude that Discovery Health would rather prefer the drug not to be administered allowing my heart rate to increase to such a level that I suffer a stroke or heart attach whilst undergoing an operation. Discovery is then prepared to carry the cost of the ensuing treatment of a stroke/heart attack.
Utter madness which makes no ligical sense other than to Discovery Health alone. A typical bad attitude from "the leader in medical aids".
