My husband had a knee operation and in theatre they administered an injection for an irregular heart beat. Discovery decided that they would not pay for this injection (R194.16) because they feel it is a lifestyle type of medication??? WHY oh why would they administer this in theatre for an irregular heartbeat and then Discovery has the audacity to reject it because they feel it was lifestyle associated?
If this is so, why would a health professional use this in theatre - does Discovery think the doctors do this because they want Discovery to pay for unnecessary injections? I do not think so, the health care professionals do this for a reason (ie IRREGULAR HEART BEAT DURING SURGERY). If I had the option to cancel Discovery I well would, I hate their "better than though" attitude. I detest this medical scheme.
