I am so disappointed with discovery regarding the way they treated my claims. i was involved in a serious car accident on 30/06/2013 and was taken to Arwyp hospital by the paramedics in my unconcious state. we got to the casualty where i was treated and then took all my details. i was then discharged later that day and went for x-rays and ran blood tests. now i just got my claims assesment and i have to pay over R2000 from my own pocket as i no longer have funds on my savings acc. when i called Discovery they tell me that Arwyp was suppose to call them for authorisation and they would settle the acc not from my savings and that i was suppose to make sure that they phone them..what i dont understand is that im a client of Discovery and pay them very high premiums to avoid such things so now i must call Arwyp to fight with them as to why they ddnt call Discovery. i was unconcious how the do i know what the procedure is as i am only a client and patient. and the answer i got is that "there's nothing they can do and i must call Arwyp and blame them" never expected such treatment but i guess u only valuable when u pay and treated like a statistic.
