Friendly request turned to a bitter experience

My husband forgot a charger in his hotel room and I phoned reception as was amply and friendly serviced by Melissa which got feedback from her manager that it would not be a problem to courier the charger in a parcel to me (counter-to-counter). She even followed-up with an email stating the costs and banking details for payment as requested. And I paid the amount plus - All in the same day. She went on sick leave and everything went haywire... The manager she left it with, was almost never to be reached and after 3 days of me phoning Faheem Salie, her manager, came to light. (now already more than a week had past). I again told him, "please send this with a courier service asap" and he promised me to do it the same day and give me feedback on the progress.
Four days later I had to phone him to get feedback. He actually stated that he did send it and how long it will take is out of his hands... thinking by myself how long? this is then send by courier (which I paid for!) This parcel only reached me 10days after he send it, because he send it ordinary mail and not as I requested to be couriered! Since when is this service by any measure? Working as a manager in hospitality - shocking!
