On the 15th of February, my wife had to have an emergency cesarean section as my daughter was in distress. Bankmed has since paid the anaesthetic R3038.26 from the total claim of 6337.99, leaving a balance of R3299.73. BankMed is refusing to pay the outstanding amount due to claim being "out of PMB". How can this even be regarded as PMB as this was an emergency cesarean section? According to the Council for Medical Aid Schemes, this falls under there definition of an emergency. All I would like is for BankMed to pay the outstanding amount to the doctor from my savings.
I have called BankMed a few times, below are the reference numbers; 150224562 and 150278393.
