On the 19/3/2013 at about 19:30 my son broke his arm, and had to have emergency surgery to place wires to allign the bones which was done in the morning of 20/3/2013 by an orthopedic surgeon. It was a prescribed minimum benefit as it was an emergency, which bankmed should pay in full. I received a statement from the orthopedic surgeon which is on bankmed contracted panel, stating that an amount of R7713.46is outstanding, that the medical aid doesnt want to pay. This is extremely frustrating as it was an emergency and according to the medical aid act it should be paid. I have contacted bankmed numerous times and keep getting told that they will resubmit the claim, which is just wasting my time. I have even emailed bankmed and have had absolutely no response. I am fed up and very annoyed. And the doctors want there money.
