I was disgnosed with a breast cancer recurrance in March 2012. I was assured that my treatment would be fully paid for from my Oncology benefit. I now have bills for scans, chemo therapy & blood tests, which should have been waivered due to the detection of an 8cm tumour. My last 3 chemo sessions were not paid for, despite being approved before treatment was started AND having ample oncology benefit available! Oncologist is now handing me over!! Blood tests essential for chemo therapy to be administered were also not paid since July and I am now being handed over for this as well. I E-Mailed bills to Pharos on 13/12/0012. I received a response on 18/12/2012 that the matter was being attended to. Still nothing. I E-Mailed again on 14/01/2013, and now cannot get hold of anyone at Pharos, not even our nurse. The bills keep coming and more unpaid blood tests have emerged from my stay in hospital, where my arm was amputated & gall bladder removed. I now have the stress of forking out thousands on unpaid bills as well as the stress of adjusting to losing a limb & fighting a life threatening disease!! I dread to receive the surgeons bills and follow up tests! Where's the patient welfare?
