Discovery is continually 'adjusting' claims that have been processed before - all for the medical bills due to my depressive episode in Jan, Feb and March. I've complained on HelloPeter before - because it's a PMB condition and I didn't just go for ECT for the fun of it... The response on the previous complaint, was that most of the bills - except for one ECT treatment and a levy on most of the anaethetist's bills - would be paid. Yeah right! All Discovery has done, is approve certain previously declined bills - and then DECLINE previously APPROVED bills! I'm sick and tired of this. I was life-threateningly sick and Discovery said that they would pay - only to pass the buck and say that they approved only the psychiatrists bill of the ECT treatment - and not the hospital bill and anaethetist's bill as well. I'm now taking this to the Council for Medical Schemes. My psychiatrist is willing to fly on his own expense to testify that it was a life threatening situation AND I have a SECOND psychiatrist who evaluated my condition at that time as well. I should NOT be liable for these unpaid bills and I'll take legal action as far as I can...
