I am lodging a complaint against Discovery Health as they always have an excuse as to why they cannot pay my medical bills.
Due to the fact that being in an ER is to them technically not being in a hospital and so doesn't fall under my hospital medical scheme but must be paid out of my savings account, I am now nearly R3000 in debt in medical bills. I feel this is taking advantage of a client in a desperate situation as I had no choice but to go to the ER as it was 2:00 in the morning.
On top of that Discovery wants me to pay them nearly R1500 to cancel my membership as I have not completed the year with them and now have to pay back the amount which they paid to the ER out of my savings account, again some fine print that caught me unawares.
Discovery has left me in serious debt and in a desperate state as I do not know how I will manage to pay this.
