I have a Samsung GALAXY S2. For about 13 months, my data bill was consistent, I never went over my allocated 75MB. Then, on month 14, I receive a bill from MTN for R5000! After doing research with MTN, the problem was identified as a default app that is shipped with Samsung, called AP Mobile. It downloaded 6.5 GIGS of data at the back, without me even knowing about it!! I installed a data monitoring app after this.
MTN accommodated me with 50% discount. I am holding Samsung liable for the other 50%. Logged a call, and it has been a month. They are just not getting back to me, except Thabo Ledwaba which calls once in a while to say "they are still busy". How long can it take to reimburse a client for money taken from them due to a faulty application shipped by the phone by default, which can't even be uninstalled?
I called head office today. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the lady I was talking to, but she simply cut me off whilst I was still busy explaining the problem. Samsung has up to this point left a very bad taste in my mouth wrt service. They are unprofessional!!!
I have already been billed R2, 500 by MTN. I am holding Samsung liable for this cost!
