Mtn
Overcharged and innocent

I have been a client of MTN for the past 14 months with 10 months left on my contract. Part of this deal was a Samsung Galaxy S2. I have happily been paying my R429 account for the past 14 months until now. I receive an invoice for packet data calls (internet usage) of R3, 549.48.

Once recovering from my mini stroke, I email MTN and request proof of URL calls which lead to this amount. They charge me R18 and then send it. It turns out that there is an application called AP Mobile which is installed on the Samsung phone by default. It can not be uninstalled nor stopped. I removed the app from one of my Samsung window views. It seems like this caused it to stream data uncontrollably. There is obviously a BUG in the app. The dns calls made were to [URL Removed] and [URL Removed]

I then limit their debit order to R429 but in bounces, because they try bill me R5, 000! So, they cut my service. When calling MTN to ask for an account settlement AFTER explaining the situation, the arrogant on the other end says that I owe the outstanding 10 months plus the huge data invoice, in total R9, 000!! SO sorry I moved from Vodacom to MTN. I am not paying the bill, it is not my fault!
