Tablet damaged by consultant

I brought my tablet in for a software upgrade. upon leaving the store on the same day, 30th November, my tablet showed an error software message. i took it back in and the consultant did a 3-button press, which then rebooted my phone and deleted everything. the phone never came back on. He suggested i leave the phone overnight to let it charge. the following day i was told my phone wont come back on and that "sorry we tried everything but you need to take it in for repairs". i called Samsung SA and was told to take it back in to them and give me a job card since THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO REBOOT PHONES. they aren't a repair center. when i returned, the took the phone to vodacom to get "someone to quickly fix it". the phone was booked in and i was quoted R2300 (the phone is only 5months old, and still under warranty).a vodacom consultant told me to take the quote to the consultant at Samsung and was basically told in not so many words to "go myself and my quote". they failed to document the incident, therefore indicate that should i take them on, i have no proof.
