Confused by bad service

I took my phone is for repairs 27 December 2013 and ive been phoning for over a week and no answer. When I phoned samsung headoffice I was told the phones dont work and I should just go through cause my phone will probably be ready. We drive all the way only to be told they dont have stock of motherboards? Really? you cant send your customers an sms or email? Your phones are off for over a week wow!!! How embarrassing I thought - you a telecommunications company and you cant communicate. Then after reading all the 100's of comments on the Internet I see that this whole 'motherboard' issue ia nothing new - seems your motherboarda are only designed to last a year and a half. Kies of course is useless! So what now? I lose all my info. S3 is a great phone - but the motherboard issue and the fact that kies is useless is really making me wonder.
