Given the run around with a broken S3

I updated my S3 via kies but afterwards it kept saying not registered on the network. I phoned Samsung and explained the problem and they said there is no Samsung repair center in Upington, I told them i was going to Bloemfontein in a week and they told me to take it to GSM Repair Center and they said the warranty is valid until December 2014. Imagine my surprise when the shop they told me to take it to told me they are not a full Samsung dealer and i will have to pay. It turns out: " the efs file was corrupted when updating via kies and the phone now shows a generic IMEI number so it wont register on the network". Samsung's website lists this place as a repair center and i was told to go there and i am still sitting with a broken phone. I am really not impressed with Samsung and i hope they can sort this issue out.
