Unfairly treated about taking out a contract

I took out a samsung galaxy 3 lte recently at Vodacom and i only had it about a week and a half and it suddenly stopped reading my sim card... i went to vodacom and they sent me to vodacom repairs in Potchefstroom... The phone is longer at repairs than I even had it, i paid the first payment and this month i have to pay again for something i cant make use of... I'm really disgusted in this phone because i heard at repairs it had a faulty motherboard and battery etc... I emailed Moses who is one of the managers and he tried to help me, he said i can make a cancellation on the contract but i have to pay more than R7000 for a phone i dont want anymore and only had it for a week and a half... I'm really not impressed in the service of Vodacom... I asked if I can cancel it or exhange it for a samsung s4 or a new samsung s3 because i'm scared the old one will give me more problems in the future and they refused... I'm not gonna pay for something i dont have and cant make use of because of all its faults... I'm not happy with this contract at all and would like to cancel or receive a new phone from them... Could you please assist me in this and tell me what to do?
