Today, I contacted the Samsung SmartCare center in Constantia looking for a quote on a spare my notebook. The receptionist was very polite and put me through to someone more technical - No issue. I was then put through to a gentleman who I asked for a quote on this part, his reply to me was, "You want what? " After explaining to him exactly what I was looking very clearly as I am a technical person myself, his reply was, "How must I know what that is, you haven't given me any information about the notebook." I understand this statement although a simple question of "For which model" would have surficed. I supplied the full product code including the buyer and SKU codes (As I said, I am technical and have worked with the Samsung product very closely) and was told it was impossible to find the part with anything other than the serial number. I know this is not the case and when I attempted to convey this, the phone was put down on me.
I will not rant and rave about this situation but I cannot understand that a simple task which would generate valuable revenue is treated this way. I have now gone to another service center for the part and will send my future customers there as well.
