Sony NWZ-W273 stopped working

I had a friend, on a trip to america, pick me up a a set of those Waterproof Walkman earphones, as I enjoy swimming. At the time, They don't sell these in South Africa, so I jumped at the opportunity to get a pair from America. They came to me in May 2013, and I loved them, they did everything promised. I always took great care in putting them in a hardshell case after use, as I wasn't sure how strong the seal keeping out water was. On Saturday 31 August while swimming, I was flipping through some songs, and the earphones stopped working. The tracks continued to flip through with the usual beep but no song played. I tried the play button, nothing.
I took it home and plugged it into the computer. I noticed it wasn't charging, though the files came up on my PC no problem. I plugged it into a proper power source, used to charge phones, and still no charging. Attempted to turn it on, and it wouldn't turn on either.
This is a plea to SONY, to help me. I loved this set of headphones, and took such great care of them.
They are still well within warranty and I can't believe they suddenly stopped working. They were bought from [URL Removed] order number J4094168
