On the 12/02/2012 I purchased a samsung 46' tv from Govan Mani- Gateway. The tv comes with a 2 year warranty from date of purchase. On 18/5/2013 the tv stopped working, there was no picture on the screen and you could only hear sound. I took the unit to Govan Mani in Gateway and was helped by a salesman named Ricardo. He took down my details with my complaint and never inspect or switch the tv on but just wheeled it into the store. He said that he would contact me when he gets feedback from samsung. After 3 days I got a call from Samsung stating that the tv had been physically damaged and the screen has a star crack causing lines across the screen with no picture. When I handed the tv in at Govan Mani it had no crack on the screen and if so the guy receiving it would have written it on the receipt, I only complained that it had no picture. After numerous phone calls to Govan Mani and Samsung, no one is prepared to help me. They insist it is my fault. The price to repair the tv is R5792. I bought it for R7000 brand new. I feel it was the salesmans duty to switch and check the tv before receiving it.
