Playstation 3 FAULTY

My younger brother purchased a PS3 from Active Imports in Church street, Johannesburg. When purchasing the PS3 he was told that the unit is a refurbished unit but that only the covers of the PS3 had been replaced and nothing else was touched. He was given a 3 month warranty on the unit and told that should anything happen he must bring it back. The unit worked satisfactorily for 4 months. I took the unit to Playground in Cresta for repair. I was told by playground that the unit has a heating issue and that they would prefer not to repair the unit as they cannot gaurantee the fix. After a conversation with PLAYGROUND, I was told by their senior technician that the PS3 had previously had systemboard repairs done and that there was ACTIVE IMPORT warranty stickers on the machine. We then returned to ACTIVE IMPORTS and explained the situation and showed the owner a Written diagnosis from PLAYGROUND. He then said that he was not present when the PS3 was sold to my brother and that they only have a 30 day warranty. This was on the 20/04/2013. Shaheed then said that he would call me with feedback. its now been a whole month with no feedback or anything. So where is my PS3???
