Shocking Customer Service from Ace

A while back a friend of mine asked me what is the best reasonably priced good quality laptop. I said to her that I had heard that Acer was a good brand, having not tried the brand myself. She went and ordered one through Groupon and it arrived. The Laptop was working just fine until one day, not too long after it had arrived, the screen went "Funny". Having been a witness to what happened that day, the laptop was not dropped or damaged in anyway. It was on and the screen just want blank and it came back on partially with strange colours. Acer then collected the laptop in August and the correspondence from their side has been terrible. They do not get back to us, we have to continuously phone them to get feedback. Eventually they indicated to us that the laptop would not be covered under warranty as it was physically damaged. How so, if their is no damage to the casing what so ever. Today they have sent it back to us without even telling us, not so much as a quote to get it fixed, just sent it back. This is a clear warranty claim but even if it weren't, how can they send it back to us without giving us a quote to fix it with them so as not to void the "Warranty". SHOCKING!
