Non-replacement of faulty Laptop

I bought a laptop end of November 2011, within a month the HDD crashed and was replaced. Not even 2 months later the HDD crashed again. Acer promise should it happen again within the 12month warranty period they will replace the HDD, within 8months the HDD crashed for the 3rd time and I've lost a year's work. I took the laptop in and suddenly the 2nd HDD which was replaced only had a 3month warranty and Acer have no knowledge of the promise made 8months earlier. I rejected the quote, and bought a HDD from Mustek which was much cheaper than Acer's quote. Now the HDD crashed again, not even after a month of replacing it for the 4th time... Acer just pull their shoulder's up and refuse to replace the unit. It was faulty from the word go! 4 HDD's in 12month or should I say 5 HDD's???!!! Unbelievable! Acer does not take any responsibility and I was informed they are not willing to assist or replace the laptop!!
