Following Cell C's inability to get a handset for a new contract to me within a week of sending me an SMS telling me that it will be delivered "shortly", they gave me their courier's number which I phoned on 19 February 2013 and got the Ermelo branch's number where I was told the package is. I phoned the Ermelo branch and spoke to Werner who was very helpful and gave me some hope that I may eventually get the handset. He said that it would be delivered on 20 February 2013.
On 20 February I then got a call at 10:30 informing me that it would be delivered on 21 February 2013. When I explained that I was promised delivery on the 20th the excuse was that the parcel only arrived that day. I told the lady in no uncertain terms that they've made a promise they have to keep and she promptly put the phone down in my ear. I phoned them again and spoke to another lady who said she'd get back to me. She never did so I phoned again and got told they can't deliver it on the 20th despite Werner promising me that they would "because he is new".
Does hand to hand mean they have a line of people passing it from hand to hand across the world because they don't have vehicles?
