I purchased a brand new Ford Ranger at end Nov 2012. At 1week old, it blew its turbo, I demanded a new car but was shown a toffee. The outlet that repaired it damaged the steering column and it was on the road for less than a week and started leaking fluid. It went back to the workshop and took around 1 month before I got it back only to have it leak again the next day. A "patch" was done as usual the dealer didnt have parts. I have purchased many fleet cars for my company and never had such shcoking un reliabilty in the 10 years I have been in my own business. Besides the fact that a car 2 months old spent around 6 weeks in the workshop it cost me hundreds of thousands of rands in business revenue and fortunately Toyota were able to help me with a qucik delivery, so my technician is back on the road again. Whatever you hear about the new FORD Ranger, be weary, be very weary. The penny should drop when you ask Fords sales people questions like can I fit a long range tank or can I fit a winch and you get a confused look and every time the same response "I dont know its a new product". Well if ford themselves dont know, then rather take your money and RUN!
