Argus car hire leaves me stranded -no help given

I booked a car for Cape Town airport online with argus car hire. My credit card was debited with a holding deposit and full insurance payment within minutes.
When I arrived at the airport there was NO CAR - I called them from my cell phone only to be redirected to an overseas call centre only to be told it was my problem to sort out as they could not find the car I wanted... Never to let me know!!! As it was the JnB Met week-end this was a huge problem!!
When I asked for a refund they said it was only a holding deposit that SHOULD be returned but that I would have to contact the insurance company myself and try get a refund.
The lady on the call centre was very polite but absolutely powerless and completely ineffective as she was not empowered to do anything.
Argus car hire is a money grabbing useless agent that does NOT care about the person hiring the car... I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN - if you don't want to be stranded without a car, I suggest you don't either!!!
