Too long to reverse payment

It was easy to arrange and organise a rental car via Woodford, and the staff at the Cape Town Airport were very friendly and helpful. I rented the car for 6 weeks, so the 'hold' on my credit card for a deposit went through as a payment. On returning the car to the Cape Town airport office, the staff were aware, and before leaving I enquired if there was any paperwork I needed to fill out to ensure the payment for the deposit was returned. The gentleman behind the counter said they had all the neccesary documentation and would reverse the payment. I left confident that this would be done

It is Now 2 and a half months later, after many international phone calls to the Airport branch, to ensure the payment is done, and being assured that it is, this deposit has still not been refunded, also resulting in charges on my credit card and one late payment fee, as this is the only amount still outstading on my credit. To date there has still been no refund, despite only one and half week ago, I was told the payment is going through

This has left a very negative view on what started out as a positive. I have gone from recommending Woodford for car hire, to telling people to avoid it
