On 11 December I put R200 petrol in my vehicle and used my Discovery Petrol card. I left for the USA the same day and was amazed to receive an sms notifying me on the 18th December of a fuel purchase made at Caltex Cedar Road to the value of R173.40. Upon contacting Discovery to notify them that I was out of of the country and could not possibly have made the purchase, they opened a claim for me and advised that other purchases valuing R100 each had been made on my card at BP Fourways Blvd as well...
Today I visited the site to enquire on their video footage to determine who was responsible for the card cloning and transactions, a very slack and unconcerned manager started rummaging through petrol slips... She didn't seem to think this was concerning at all. To everyone reading this post, STAY AWAY FROM CALTEX CEDAR ROAD. clearly doesn't raise alarm bells with them and your money is not safe here.
Caltex Management, I will find out who's responsible and will proceed with criminal charges against whomever is responsible at this franchise.
