On 22 September 2013 at about 18:00 I went to Caltex in Giyani to fill up with petrol for R150.00. I produced my debit card and gave it to the petrol attendant to pay for the petrol. He processed the payment with the POS machine but the transaction was declined. Surprisingly, when I accessed my bank account through internet banking, there was a deduction in favour of Caltex. I brought the matter to the attention of the petrol attendant who then checked for my transaction from the POS machine but there was no sign of it. I then withdrew cash from the ATM and paid another R150.00 thinking that the R150.00 debited from my account would be reversed automatically. I'm still waiting for my R150.00 to reversed. I had a similar challenge from the same filling and I was not happy with the way I was assisted though I got my money back. I prefer Caltex over other filling stations but I don't want to face the same arrogance displayed by the manager again. I must indicate that the petrol attendant was helpful.
