On Sunday 07/04/2013 I was travelling from the Northern Cape to Johannesbur and decide to fill up with petrol at the Caltex in Vryburg. The petrol attendant filled the vehicle with petrol and I decided to pay with my FNB Petro card (amount R 633.51, 47.810 litres at pump 6). The attended proceeded to swipe my card twice after which he indicated that the transaction was declined after which I pad with my Platinum Cheque Card. When I got home that evening I noticed that the transaction had been debited to both cards, so effectively I paid twice for the same thing after repeatedly asking the petrol attendant whether I would be charged twice to which he indicated no. I have both slips (the declined transaction on my Petro Card voucher no. 018202) and (the successful transaction on my Platinum Cheque Card, voucher no. 018203). I tried contact the service station on Monday and Tuesday, but was not successful in my attempts. I need to be refunded for the double amount and I feel that the service station and petrol attendant should be held accountable for this. I would appreciate if someone could contact me in this regard urgently.
