On the afternoon of Friday, 3 January I visited Cavalier Motors in Plein Street, Durbanville. On this occasion I used the car wash. Near the end of the car wash tunnel, I actually felt how my vehicle (toyota hilux bakkie) was pulled to the right hand side towards a huge metal plate which scratched it badly. On exiting, I immediately went to the person supervising the car wash and showed him what happened. He gave me the details of Barend Lubbe, a manager there who I phoned a couple of minutes later. Lubbe promised that he would look into the matter and come back to me. A couple of days later he informed me, without even having a look at the car that it was impossible for the car to be damaged. I immediately drove to the garage where I showed him the damage and where it happened. I again told me that it was impossible and implied that I was lying.
A couple of days later he phoned me to inform that the owner (Torris De Reuck) decided that they are not responsible for the damage. The owner never spoke to me or even saw the vehicle.
On 10 January I layed a complaint with Chevron who said they will come back to me. Week later I followed up with a call. To date no feedback received.
