I have rented a car with AVIS on the 31st of October 2013 for 3 days and the vehicle was due on the 3rd of November 2013 at 17h30. As per the agreement the rate per day was set at R213.16 per day exclusive of VAT and it was estimated that the toal rental amount including the contract fee was around R789.00.
I returned the vehicle on the 3rd of November 2013 in Menlyn Branch, after I have filled the vehicle full tank.
However when I get my deposit back I noticed that I have been billed R2215.45 which was broken down as follows;
> 5 days rental @R316.67 per day = R1 583.35
> 26.92 litres petrol = R350.46
> Contract fees = R52.63
> VAT @14% = R229.03
> TOTAL amount invoiced = R2 215.45.
I have lodged a compliant with them and they promised to return to me, however from last week wednesday they haven't returned to me. When I tried to do a follow up, the lady I spoke to, told me that there is no query under the reference I gave her, which is what they gave me when I lodged the query.
