Late Delivery, Disgusting Call centre

I ordered an Item on kalahari on the 7/10/2013.
I received the waybill number and the details pertaining to my delivery scheduled for today (2013/10/09). I phoned at about 11am to double check the online status of my parcel being checked out and en route to be delivered. Nothing.
I phone back at 16:55 only for them to tell me maybe tomorrow. I have now lost today's income due to taking off work. I then ask what is the way forward and they woman on the line says no I can go pick it up. If I wanted to pick it up I wouldn't have paid a courier... Absolutely disgusting customer service. The fact I had to phone to find out it will not be delivered, and now put up to the inconvenience of trying to make sure I can collect at a completely inconvenient time, costing me job hours never mind petrol and time losses. Further arrangement was then made to deliver between 7pm and 8pm after this ordeal and yet again after promising they have defaulted. Reading through other posts on this site it seems like a recurring problem with the same general response...
