My mom was involved in a car accident. a dozen towing guys descend on her during her frazzled state and offered to tow her car. essop, a driver for the above mentioned company claimed he would take care of the car for a cheap price and that she had nothing to worry about. he makes her sign for what she thinks is a checklist for all the things in her car, only to realise when she gets home that there are terms and conditions at the back of the form. these state that towing is R3950 for a 40km distance and that there are additional costs of R2500 for vehicle recovery, R995 for subsequent tows, R295 daily for storage and R950 admin fees.
If the information had been clearly stated at the beginning and the driver had not blatently and taken advantage of my mom, she would have chosen the other tow trucks, as she had stated that her insurance doesn't pay more than R2500 for towing.
she has called the company and spoken to a very rude and belittling women named barbarer who was of no help at all and instead threated to never release or sell the car until she gets her money as it is her right.
