I was involved in a car accident on 23 August 2013, at Rotterdam road, in Mfuleni, Cape Town. The guy by the name, Denzil who works for Cage& J towing offered to assist me in towing the vehicle from the scene. I refused his help, because he was not granted permission by my insurance (Outsurance) to tow the car, and he insisted to assist, at price of R 1800 excl storage cost and I told him I am not gonna pay such amount, then he said I shouldn't worry the insurance will cover the cost and he ended up towing the car to their yard due to the fact that community people wanted to burn down my car, claim that I was wrong without even asking me. When they sent the invoice to the insurance he quoted R 3500 for towing only, which to came to R 5500 including storage cost. I feel that they robbed me because what they charged me wasn't what was agreed on at the place of the accident. They took advantage me, when I needed help at the most... so I ended up paying this R 5500 because they couldn't release the car to the insurance without having to pay the amount they wanted.
This is not the end of my story, on top of what they charged me, they my car battery and sparewheel.
