For Fathers Day (June!), I sent my dad a parcel via the post office 'speed services' from Maritzburg to Jo'burg. When my folks went to fetch the parcel, it have been 'broken into' and stuff missing, card torn open and the package ripped.
I put in a claim the next day which was subsequently rejected because I didn't insure the parcel. So please be aware that if you don't insure a speed services parcel, you have no recourse against them, and they are not obligated to reimburse you.
I have phoned and left messages over the past couple of months to speak to someone, anyone (!) who could answer a couple of questions for me. This has proved absolutely impossible and I sometimes wonder if any 'in charge' actually works there!
It is not about the stuff taken, it is the principle of the whole thing and the disregard of their responsiblity in the matter - no acknowledgement that anyone did anything wrong, just a 'sorry for the inconvenience'.
Hopefully the matter can be resolved.
