I had missed a flight to Cape town from Lanseria, so took my hired car from Hertz to O R Tambo to fly from there. I was in a rush to catch this flight on time and therefore ran into the Hertz offices to return the keys. Once I arrived at check in I realised that I had left a box of sample products in the boot of the car and immediately called my colleague who phoned Hertz to let them know that she would be coming in the following day to collect. The staff acknowledged this. I subsequently called my colleague to tell her that when she went through to Hertz that I had also left a brand new pair of shoes, behind the drivers seat. When she arrived to collect my goods the shoes were missing. I called the Manager, a man called Nicky and he confirmed that the shoes were not found in the car. I made it clear that I was not satisfied with this answer and in fact the shoes must have been taken and I asked him to follow up on everyone that handled the car in the few hours after my returning it. Nicky spoke to me once regarding this, promising to follow up, I made 2 more subsequent calls to Nicky and left messages, I have heard nothing since. I am assuming that this case is cold now.
