Imperial Select Multi Franchise
Refusal to honour signed purchase contract

Tuesday, 6 August, I visited the above showroom in search of a used car. I was shown a Kia Picanto, within my price range, by the salesman, after checking the interior, mileage and general condition the salesman took my husband and I on a test drive.
I decided to buy the car and all the documents were prepared, copy of my I.D and I signed the purchase agreement.
It was to be a cash sale, and they said they would phone me with the excact amount to transfer as soon as the accountant had calculated it with "on road cost" as well as "smash and grab" prevention for the windows.
I went straight to my bank, a very thrilled "car-owner" to make the necessary arrangements.
I was contacted per phone an hour later to be informed that some-one else had bought the car before me..but, they could offer me something similar at a 20, 000R higher price!...
Is a contract to purchase not binding..or is this a "?
I remain disappointed angry and frustrated with the whole scenario.
