Dhl International
From the sublime to the ridiculous

My friend in the UK sent me a parcel (waybill 402 704 6542) with used baby clothes. It arrived in SA on 3 April. I was away on holiday in Wilderness but as soon as I was back in Jhb, I contacted ITAC to obtain a 'permit for used goods'. This took a few days to reach me. As soon as I got it, I forwarded it to DHL to Owen Senamela (this was 24 April). No one told me a parcel gets sent to the Government States Warehouse after 14 days if it has not been cleared.
Also on 24 April I got an email from Justice Khakhu of DHL (who couldn't even get my surname right) telling me the parcel was going to said warehouse. I phoned him and he told me to re-send him my permit (no one had processed it) and said 'don't worry, the parcel won't be sent to the warehouse, I'll frame it'. But the parcel did get sent to the warehouse.
There were some issues with the tax invoice, but this was resolved and I was told to pay R100 storage fees to get the parcel retrieved and delivered to me. I did so on 1 May, and sent DHL proof of payment. I was then told to deal with Tiro in 'retrievals'. He said my parcel would be delivered within about 5 working days. 22 May I'm still waiting! Pathetic! Shame on you DHL.
