Glitches with Vehicle Hire

1. I hired a 4x4 D/C with canopy for a camping trip (1st to 5th May 2013) - when I went to collect the vehicle it had no canopy - disaster for a dirt road travelling with camping gear. I was given a Merc Vito in it's place.

2. The Vito had a flat tyre when I collected it which the guys assured me was only because the vehicle was standing for a while. Turns out the valve was faulty and I spent the next 5 days borrowing tyre compressors and stressing about long distance driving. I ended up buying 2 bottles of tyre weld as insurance. Extra costs for me.

3. The Vito came with no Owners/Operators manual and to find out how to do stuff (eg find battery connectors for compressor) was not easy. Even the fuel filler is not straight forward to find.

4. Even although I had pre-paid for the vehicle, I was charged a second time on vehicle collection.
The person serving me never even mentioned it - I just received an sms on my phone while I was waiting for the vehicle and I saw that the money had gone off my account. This was reversed but took a few days for the money to appear in my credit card again.

Disappointing service. We wasted a lot of time sorting all this out.
