My daughter and I went to the Canal Walk MEXICO Spur this morning. We sat near the breakfast serving area. While we were waiting I was watching the staff and was quite perplexed that the lady behind the counter was putting the toast into a box- USING HER HANDS. The waitrons helped themselves from the box. As it was quite a busy morning, a queue had formed and they had a little time to wait their turn. This gave them a breather to a) comb back their hair b) wipe their noses c) clean teeth and then use the same hand to pick up the toast and place it on the plate.
I called a manager over. I told him what I had seen and he acknowledged that it was unacceptable and proceeded doing his job, escorting people to tables. He said he will address it. We waited for our food and watched how nothing changed at the toast section. I informed a second manager on leaving, and he said they should not be doing it, and again did not go there and address the problem. I know that these things happen, but surely not in the public eye. Every single waiter used his/ her hands, sometimes replacing toast and picking up other slices. This is not good enough. I would have expected an immediate reaction.
