Cape Town Fish Market
What a rip off!

I booked a table for ten people on the 19th of December for the sushi special. On arrival we were all served drinks and then advised that the sushi special which is advertised to run from 6pm till 10pm was finished, this was at 7.30pm. I paid the drinks bill and left. On the 2nd of January I phoned and spoke to a lady by the name of Yvonne who advised me that she was the shift manager. I informed her of the previous incident and was promised that it would not reoccur. On arrival there we spent the entire time standing in a line while they prepared the sushi.By 7.30 pm the owner was again telling people that the sushi special was over. After requesting my bill I was presented with a bill for R 1500 and a service charge of R150 which was added onto the bill. I deleted the R150 and inserted my own tip value of R80. The bill was handed to the waitress to be settled but immediately returned by the owner who demanded that the full be paid as this was a compulsory charge. After a lengthy and embarrassing dispute I paid my bill and the R80 service fee whereafter the owner proceeded to throw my Visa card back at me across the table. My last visit - pathetic.
