Shocking Service!

At 15h45 on 20/09/2013, I walked into Piatto via the terrace on Nelson Mandela Square. There was no-one to greet me at the door, so I made my way into the smoking section, where I wanted to be seated. After standing behind a group of waiters, who were standing at the computer chatting away, one waiter eventually backed into me, and realised that I was standing there. I asked whether I could please have a table, and was abruptly asked "for how many"? When I said that I was on my own, I was given that "drop dead" look, and shown to the corner table next to the wine cellar and the cigar case. A wine list and a menu were "dumped" on the table, and that was the last I saw of a waiter, ANY waiter. After waiting for - 15 minutes, and having been passed by numerous waiters, who looked as if they were more interested in going home, and even a Manager in a red shirt who passed my table on THREE separate occasions, I decided that I was fighting a loosing battle to try and get any service, so got up and left via the exit into the mall. One waiter saw what was happening, and when I told him that I was leaving, as no-one was prepared to serve me, he didn't even try and stop me! Shocking Service
