On the 18th of April 2013 i had gone on to the absa internet banking site to reset my password so i was able to log on and browse their home page, upon doing so i had got an sms saying that a beneficiary was added to my account moments later more sms saying that money was being taken out of my account. i then rushed to absa kroonstad to stop what was happening, and they did so. They then took a statement from me and the amount that was taken was R3000. They informed me to go to the police station and make a case and they would send head office all documentation so that they may start their investigations. I then received a call on the 26/04/2013 from a representative of absa asking the same questions i was asked in the bank at the time this all took place, after answering all questions she proceeds to inform me that absa is not liable and will not be refunding the funds that was taken out of my account. i am highly upset with what they have done i will be taking it up further with the banking ombudsman, and want nothing to do with absa bank.
