On the 23rd July, whilst on the ABSA internet banking website, ABSA's internet banking website was hacked into & R4000 was taken out of my account. The was allowed to be logged onto ABSA's site the same time I was logged in. An ABSA account holder. The gain access the the ABSA website added him/herself as a beneficiary on my account & once the money was out of my account, deleted him/herself as a beneficiary & drew all the money. I called immediately to enquire about stopping the tranfer I was told it's too late as the money had been drawn out of the account already. I have just received a call from the division at ABSA & was told that ABSA will not be reimbursing me for the which was allowed to take place on their websit which they claim is secure? I will be moving my account to another bank, taking this matter to the Ombudsman & if their response is unsatisfactory I will report it to the Adjudicator in Pretoria. I will also go to the radio's Carte Blanche & Facebook with this unaccetable response & manner in which ABSA has chosen to deal with this matter when it was their website which was compromised & hacked into.
