I have the exact same problem as Vivienne.
On 23 April 2013 I also tried to pay with my Virgin Money card and it was declined. I knew I had funds but also thought that maybe the store had a problem. Yesterday I tried again and again it was declined.
I called your call centre a few minutes ago and was told that in September 2011 (more than a year and a half ago) when they delivered my new card to me, I did not hand over my proof of residence or ID. I handed over everything they had requested to your courier who also intialled every page in front of me otherwise he would not have given me my card. So now in true African style my card has been blocked without so much as a notification. If you have more than one complaint of the exact same problem do you not think that this is an error on your side? Furthermore you now have the audacity to inconvenience me. Your lovely consultant advised - electronic copies emailed is NOT acceptable. Only hardcopies that have been certified will be accepted. This can be mailed in the post or taken to an ABSA bank to be posted so that YOU can lose my hardcopies yet again. Why cant you people just do your jobs for once?
