FICA - hold on account

To whom it may concern,

Could you please kindly furnish me with proof that you sent me a reminder to FICA, BEFORE you put a hold on my account!?!?!?

I have been a customer with ABSA since 1995 - guess who will now be looking for another bank!

I cannot believe that you would stop me from using my own money! Yes, I cannot make ATM withdrawals, cannot make internet payments (which means I cannot pay my rent nor my daughters school fees).

I have a squeaky clean record and an excellent credit rating - who would have thought that it would be by my own bank!!

Is this even legal?
