I was 30 years long an absa customer.
Two weeks ago I tried to make Internet transfers. I got a message "Not authorised".
I then went to an ATM to withdraw cash and the machine stated that I must contact the bank.
I called the bank and discovered they HAVE BLOCKED MY TRANSACTIONS AND CASH WITHDRAWALS because of a suddenly outstanding FICA.
I went in and they did the FICA about the 10th time for me and I was able to transact again.
Yesterday I had to pay cash for goods and I was AGAIN BLOCKED due to outstanding FICA.
I went to the bank again and did FICA perhaps the 11th time!
The previous times FICA was done by their so-called personal bankers. Now they are sparkling in their absence!
I've now just had it with their missing service and have started the switch to FNB.
By the way, I am a Platinum account holder treated like this!!!
15 minutes ago, an agency called me and wanted to sell me absa services, not knowing I am an embarrassed customer!
Why do they not call customers and ask them to come in again and a gain and agin for FICA? Why are they blocking accounts? What if you are out of town/overseas/after hours?
Case evidence is available in branch.
This is sick!!!
