I have not had much issues with Wesbank until today. I am unable to go to a branch, as apparently there are no more in East London, so had to call the call centre. I want to make it clear that it is NOT the call centre that I have a problem with, as the agent (David) was very helpful and professional. Thank you David. But it is rather with Wesbank policies. I decided to deposit a lump sum of R300k on my account for my Mercedes today (Worth R600k). Seeing that I have been a brilliant customer for YEARS, never missing a payment, I asked if I could possibly negotiate a slightly better interest rate, seeing that I am putting in such a large capital amount. I was told that it is not done, and when I said that I would then consider moving to another bank who would gladly take on the remaining balance. I was told they do not want to lose me as a customer. And that's it. No other options. So all I can take from that is you would rather lose me as a customer than even try look at a better deal for me. Wow. Ok then. I will have a look around on Monday to see what other options I have. Sad that such a good customer has to go to those lengths. Oh well. Just wanted to vent a bit on that issue.
