My application for vehicle finance was approved by Wesbank this morning and the person assisting me at the dealer vouched that the interest rate on the approval was 12%. I tried negotiating the interest rate but he told me that he cannot be able to assist me with hence the car I am buying is 6 months old. My husband then called him and to my surprise the person at the dealer agreed with my husband that he was going to negotiate with the bank. The agreement with the dealer and me was that I should get a 8.5%- 9% interest, the guy at the dealer came back with 9.9% interest rate and told me that there was nothing he can do for me. I asked him to give me the quotation so that I can personally go to wesbank, make an application and negotiate my interest rate but he refused. I then called Wesbank call centre and was referred to Thoko Mashika as the right person to negotiate the interest. I have been trying to call Thoko since then and every time I go back to the wesbank call center I am told that they cannot refer me to anyone else but Thoko or her boss Shazia. I'm just a disappointed considering how i have never had a problem and my 2 cars were financed by them.
