I am commercial customer of Outsurance & have my own personal insurance. I do however refuse to claim from from my insurance as the accident that happened was caused by the other party. My wife drove my car on the day of the accident & just after the accident the other party assured my wife that this matter will be sorted as she works for Outsurance. What a co-incidence? They send us claim forms & referred us to an assessor of their choice. The amount came to R12 000 (plus) and they responded that they will only cover R3 700. I immediately disputed by sending a letter & they still refused to pay and feel that the amount offered is fair.
How they came to that conclusion, I don't know but I will not let them rip me off like this as I am sure that their employee should be an ambassador & besides that her insurance should cover for 3rd party claims & in full. I will wait and see what the response is after this. If I am not satisfied I will refer the matter to the ombudsman & there after I will go and see a laywer.
