A person insured through Outsurance drove into the back of my vehicle on 17 December 2013.
I had to fill out a lot of forms and get all kinds of documentation together which took me a while then I submitted the claim. They made it clear in the forms that I have to follow up on the claim which is pathetic. I was not the person who caused the accident, YOUR CLIENT WAS!!!
Now, I have to follow up with the consultant to find out that Outsurance will only pay out an amount that I cannot have my vehicle repaired for. They are deducting a 57, 68 % salvage percentage of more than half the vehicle value!!!
Am I being treated this way because I am a third party and have no Insurance, with no recourse through the Ombudsman, and that their pockets are much deeper than mine so a legal battle would be out of the question?
Also I have asked them to reconsider and have been told in no uncertain terms that their decision is final.
I just want to be compensated fairly to repair my vehicle to its pre-accident condition.
If this is how you treat Third Party claims I would Never insure through Outsurance!!!
Does TCF and WOP not apply in this case...
